Community Economic Development

Community Economic Development

A Comprehensive Toolkit for Locanomics, Community Organizing, Indigenomics, Leadership, Social Innovation, Cooperatives and more

I completed the Simon Fraser University’s Community Economic Development Program in 2015 and it gave me a language for my intuition and experiences in India and in rural Canada. In India, I took street vendors, with their diversity and sense of service, for granted and was able to experience those values again in Valemount. Small business influenced economies not only have a unique character but also make bigger and more long term impacts, albeit with lesser recognition.

Taking Anne Docherty’s course “Making Change Happen” gave me a new way to look at Community Engagement, Inclusion and Empowerment.
